Dance Has Always Been My Truest Language
Trained since childhood across stages in India, the UK, and the Bay Area. Chaitanya is opening her own studio doors. A small, personal founding batch in San Ramon.
Tradition, Technique & Pedagogy
Chaitanya Gotur has trained in Bharatanatyam since childhood under senior guru Smt. Radha Sridhar, a recipient of the prestigious Sangeeta Natak Akademy Award by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. That training culminated in her Rangapravesham and Vidwat certification, and she is a graded artiste of Doordarshan, Bengaluru. She has performed extensively across India, both solo and with her dance school.
A move to the United Kingdom brought new stages and a teaching role at Swindon Dance Academy, where she both performed and taught kids, youth, and adult batches. Settling in the Bay Area, she trained under Guru Mythili Kumar, Artistic Director of Abhinaya Dance Company, and went on to teach and perform at Abhinaya Dance Company, San Jose.
Now based in San Ramon, Chaitanya brings that same structured, joyful, and anatomically safe approach to classical arts education. She believes Bharatanatyam is not simply a series of steps, but an expansive medium through which young dancers discover rhythm, emotional maturity, cultural roots, and lifelong poise.
What is Bharatanatyam?
Bharatanatyam is one of India's oldest classical dance forms — a disciplined blend of rhythmic footwork, sculpture-like postures, and storytelling told through hand gestures (mudras) and facial expression. Rooted in South Indian temple tradition, it trains the body and the imagination together, building focus, coordination, and confidence alongside a lasting connection to Indian art and culture.
